I'm Shmuel, based in Toronto. My background is in Child and Youth Work, followed by roles in telecom, retail, commerce software, and Salesforce. It isn't a straight line on a resume, but those are all parts of my working life, not a preamble to the technical bit.

Today I'm an Outcomes Engineer at Diabsolut, building Salesforce POCs and tools around the tasks people need to do. My earlier roles at Salesforce were Account Executive roles. Building on the Salesforce platform at Diabsolut is a different chapter.

I'm a husband, father, and cancer survivor. Outside work, I spend time with my family, follow sports, and tinker with my homelab. Learning and teaching still matter to me. I like figuring something out, then finding a way to explain it without making someone feel they should already know.

The homelab is a place for curiosity without needing a pitch. I like being able to wonder how something works and then get my hands on it. It doesn't all have to turn into something useful for work. Sometimes being interested is enough of a reason.

What happens between typing a web address and seeing a page? Quite a lot, for something we casually call a click.

A name → an address → a request → a page

That is the short version. The long version is how a perfectly good afternoon disappears.
